La Sax 成立於2005年,是現今在香港被視為最活躍的色士風樂團之一。多年來本著雅俗共賞的信念,以提高公眾對色士風音樂的認識及興趣為宗旨,為觀眾提供高質素的音樂會,期望透過創新、多元化的表演形式,突破古典音樂的固有框框,為本地色士風發展不斷注入新動力。
由成立至今,樂團一直深入走訪社區,通過演奏會、公開綵排、大師班,推動本土色士風文化。自2009年起應康樂及文化事務署邀請,定期於香港各區舉辦免費戶外音樂會,至今演出超過三百場。此外,樂團亦走訪各中、小學及大專院校,與年輕觀眾接觸外,發掘並培訓不少年青音樂家,為他們提供不同的學習及演出機會,期望年輕人透過接觸及學習音樂,培養個人藝術修養。
樂團演出曲目多元化,除古典、爵士樂及原創音樂外,亦會演奏團員特別編制的各類音樂,包括中國傳統音樂、世界民謠、本地流行音樂等!。近年更與跨媒界創作人合作,於音樂演奏加入戲劇元素,以嶄新的方法帶領觀眾走進音樂世界。《動物嘉年華》在香港藝術發展局支持下,巡演內地七個城市。2019年樂團再獲香港藝術發展局邀請參與「第三屆賽馬會藝壇新勢力」,《JunGo瘋!》於香港上演四場學校專場、六場公開演出,並為社會上不同階層人士提供多元化的音樂教育活動。

La Sax, founded in 2005 by local saxophone talents, is regarded as one of the earliest saxophone ensembles in Hong Kong with versatility and astounding dynamic. With the goal of encouraging public interest in the art of music, La Sax dedicates to serving, encouraging and nurturing people of all ages with great music that are performed with the highest degree of professionalism and artistic excellence.
As a leading saxophone ensemble in Hong Kong, La Sax seeks to stimulate growth and learning through music across the entire community through indoor concerts, open rehearsals and master classes. Since 2009, La Sax has been invited by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department to tour around Hong Kong delivering over 300 free music concerts. La Sax is also dedicated to nurturing the talent of the younger generation by providing teenagers with different learning and performing opportunities via outreach concerts and ensemble training workshops, the youths are inspired to pursue unique music motive and artistic accomplishment.
La Sax performs a diverse repertoire ranging from classical, jazz and original compositions. Not to mention works arranged by the ensemble in the styles of Chinese traditional music, folk music and local pop music. In recent years, La Sax has been working with cross-media artists to meld theatrical elements into concerts and to enrich audience musical experience. The “Saxo Carnival of the Animals” – an exquisitely and extraordinary musical production in Hong Kong was toured at seven cities in China under the support of the Hong Kong Arts Development Council, all concerts were well-received by the public and critics alike. In 2019, La Sax was again being invited by the Council to take part in “The 3rd Jockey Club New Arts Power” festival, bringing a total of 4 schools shows, 6 public shows and various education and outreach activities at the community.
