Jeffrey CHAN enjoys a prolific career as a performer. He has performed as a soloist and chamber musician throughout the United States, Germany, Holland, Japan, Taiwan, and China. Born and raised in Hong Kong, he has enjoyed working with professional music groups including the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, the Hong Kong Sinfonietta and the Hong Kong Wind Philharmonic Orchestra; and with world-renowned conductors such as Edo de Waart, Jerry Junkin, Lu Gia, and Zhang Xian. Chan is also the founding member of La Sax, one of the most earliest and active saxophone ensembles in Hong Kong that promotes the art of saxophone playing.
Chan has distinguished himself in the international music scene by taking part in numerous saxophone master classes conducted by respected saxophonists, such as Claude Delangle, Eugene Rousseau, Jean-Yves Fourmeau, Joseph Lulloff, Timothy Mcallister, Otis Murphy, and Kenneth Tse. He has also appeared in the world’s leading saxophone festivals including the World Saxophone Congress, the North America Saxophone Alliance Conference, the U.S. Navy Band Symposium, the Hamamatsu Wind Academy, and the Hong Kong International Saxophone Symposium. Upon completion of the Music Talent Development programme and the Bachelor degree programme at the Hong Kong Baptist University and the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts respectively, Chan gained his Master of Music degree from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, where he studied with international renowned saxophonist Taimur Sullivan in 2013. In addition to his performing career, Chan devoted himself to the development of classical saxophone playing in Hong Kong. Currently, he teaches at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, The Hong Kong Baptist University and The Hong Kong Institute of Education. |
Ryan LAM started studying saxophone in the school band during his secondary school life at St. Bonaventure College. Since then, he became a member of the Hong Kong Symphonic Winds. During his studies, he won several prizes at the Hong Kong Schools Music Festival, while also assisted the school band in achieving 1st prize in the music festival. Ryan has various performing experiences, not merely in Hong Kong, but Japan, China, Macau and Taiwan. He is one of the founding members of La Sax, aiming at promoting public awareness of the saxophone culture.
Ryan is actively involved in music education through teaching saxophone at local public schools and music centres. His students achieved excellent results at the Associated Board of the Royal School of Muisc, also gaining several awards in the music festivals. Currently, Ryan is forming student’s ensembles, to provide more performing opportunities for the younger generations. He is currently the music consultant of My Music Academy, a music learning institution in Hong Kong. Chun-tak holds the Licentiate certificate in saxophone performance presented by the London Trinity College. |

Fong Pui Laam started studying saxophone in the school band since he was a secondary student at St. Bonaventure College and attained the Grade 8 exams by ABRSM in saxophone. He has won several prizes at the Hong Kong Schools Music Festival, including solo, woodwind ensemble and school band competition.
Since he started his university life, he has been studying and got the internship changes in different countries, such as the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, Thailand and Dubai, etc. He was active in exploring different music culture and participate music events in the above countries. Currently, Laam is forming student saxophone ensembles, sharing and exchanging music experiences to the young generations. Laam holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the Hotel Management School Maastricht. |
Born in Hong Kong, saxophonist Tak Chiu Wong is regarded as one of the most active saxophonist in Asia. He was invited to perform throughout Asia, Europe and United States. Besides being a performer, He is also a pedagogue and event organizer. He was taught in Hong Kong, United State and France. His mentors included Michael Campbell, Jean-Yves Fourmeau, Michael Ibrahim, Jennifer To, and Scott Turpen. He is the organizer and Co-Director of the Asia Pacific Saxophone Academy.
As a passionate musician, Wong has performed actively worldwide with renowned conductors like Edo de Waart and Prof. Jerry Junkin, among others. He works as a freelance musician in many professional orchestras such as the Hong Kong Philharmonic, Hong Kong Sinfonietta, Hong Kong Wind Philharmonia, etc. Besides being an orchestral player, Wong has also performed extensively as a soloist where he has collaborated with the University of Wyoming Symphony Orchestra, Hong Kong Band Directors Wind Orchestra and Hong Kong Wind Orchestra, among others. Winner of the Hong Kong Academy Concerto Competition (2006) and 1st runner-up of the Concour de Saxophone Parisien (2008) in France, Wong has received much praise from recognized saxophonist, Julien Petit. After gaining his reputation, Wong has performed various new commissioned works and multi-media productions with different ensembles. Apart from performing, Wong is enthusiastic in teaching. He is currently the faculty of the Asia Pacific Saxophone Academy at Kasetsart University in Thailand. In addition, he has given master classes in China, Hong Kong, Macau, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand. Tak Chiu is a Selmer Paris and RICO D'addario artist. He plays the Selmer Paris saxophones with the RICO reeds exclusively. |

Natalie YIP began her musical training on piano at age 6. She started to study the saxophone at age 12, and was awarded the Licentiate certificate (with distinction) in saxophone performance by the London Trinity College in 2009.
Natalie has been working with various local music groups, including the Hong Kong Symphonic Winds, the Hong Kong Chamber Winds Philharmonia, the Hong Kong Professional Winds, the Hong Kong Band Directors Association and the Varsity Saxophone Quartet, touring around Holland, Shanghai, Xian, Taiwan, Macau, etc. She is also active in participating overseas music events, such as the World Music Contest (WMC), Hamamatsu International Wind Instrument Academy and Festival and the World Association for Symphonic Bands and Ensembles (WASBE). In recent years, Natalie is actively involved in the promotional activities of classical saxophone music in Hong Kong. She devotes herself to music education with utmost enthusiasm, and has been working with people of different generations through teaching in local schools and music centres. She is currently developing her career as an arts administrator in local arts industry. Yip holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree and a Master of Arts in Music from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. |
